We left here about 11:30(ish) yesterday morning, and got to San Antonio and checked into the hotel about 3 p.m. The drive over there was pretty uneventful.
I rested for awhile, and then called Melissa around 4:30, so she'd know we were in, and startled her with her cell phone. ;)
She came about 6, and we swung by her apartment, so she could set her tape for "Smallville" and "Angel". I met her roommate, etc., etc, and then she kindly took me to dinner at a great Italian place called Zio's. I had Shrimp Limone, which was delicious, and stuffed myself till I couldn't stuff myself anymore. Our waiter was hilarious. Hovering and a klutz. Joy. But we wouldn't be us without the mocking, so poor guy. ;)
Then we went back to her place and hung out, and watched TV. Because like she said, it would not be a Cassie/Melissa outing without copious TV watching. I like that. ;)
We watched "Angel", which I probably wouldn't have done if I'd been by myself. But mocking it with a friend is much better than mocking it alone. I made lots of gay Angel comments, because it's so obvious that he is. Then, ya know, the "I'm his date" comment from Spike in next week's preview didn't help his case any, at all. lol Spike and Angel, sittin' in a tree...
Other than that, it was pretty lame and boring. Gunn looks 12 now, Wes did nothing of any use that I could tell, Fred was her bumbling annoying self, Angel was gay, Harmony needs to be staked, and Eve is Jennifer Garner's little sister. Holy cow. And I don't understand any of it. Nor do I care to, really. Lorne was a kick in the pants, I guess.
Then we watched "Smallville" on tape. Clark and Chloe need to make out, Lana needs to die (along with Harmony, if it's more convenient that way), and poor Lex is finally a couple fries short of a Happy Meal. Lex needs a hug. As long as I make sure there's not a knife in his hand first. *sigh*
And Clark's hot, Lord help me. I wanted to make out with him, for that matter. *drool*
That Helen bitch seriously needs to die, too. Throw her in there with Lana and Harmony. Grrrr.
Super!Jonathan's neato though. Can't wait for next week. :)
Melissa dropped me back at the hotel after that, and I had had a really good time and was in a good mood. I was also hungry again (I know! I know!), and I wound up eating three pieces of the pizza the fam had ordered. RIP diet. lol Watched Letterman, read, went to sleep before 1, I think.
Mom woke me up at 8 this morning, though it didn't take much, because I was never that asleep to begin with. That bed was horrible! It felt like someone had stabbed me in the back. Ow.
We checked outta there and got to the zoo about 11:15. It's not nearly as grand as I remembered it, but I was little the last time I was there, that probably had a lot to do with it. They have neat monkeys though. hehe And really more birds than anything else. The lion was far away, the tiger and bear were asleep, so that was a little disappointing. I went through the butterfly house, which was neat, since I lurve butterflies. It's not all that big, and you just walk through a stone path with plants and flowers on either side, and there are lots of butterflies. They'll land on you and stuff, but they just fluttered around me. Pretty.
I got a little nervous when they instructed us to watch the path closely so we didn't step on any. *shudder*
And then I went all dorky when we left, because there's a huge gust of air when you leave, just in case you picked up a butterfly, and it was just like the bee dome in the X-Files Movie. LOL! See? Dorky. Only I don't think I've accidentally transported a virus-carrying bee back under my collar. At least I hope not.
We left the zoo around 1:30, which was sooner than we were expecting, but we'd seen everything at our leisure at that point. We drove out to Canyon Lake, which is huge, and took some pictures. I totally cracked up as we were leaving though, because this pack of Hog driving biker dudes (old ones, too) had driven up the same time as us, and as we were leaving they were all out on the overlook we'd just been at, taking pictures too. I just found it hilarious, you wouldn't figure it, ya know?
We had lunch at Arby's in New Braunfels, which is why I still haven't eaten and it's almost eight, and came straight home. We got here about 5:45, and thus the adventure ends.
I had a nice time, but I'm kinda glad to be home too. My feet hurt. lol
